Tom Chestnut Concert

Beaudry RV sponsored a Tom Chestnut & Rusty Terry concert at FHTV last evening. The concert was well attended and enjoyed by everyone.

Tom is a very good entertainer. He danced and sang to several of the single ladies in the audience last evening. Needless to say, they really enjoyed his attention. He taught the line dancers a couple of new line dances. Everyone enjoyed the music and dancing.

Electric Blue

Y'all missed a really great show Wednesday night. Electric Blue was a very high energy show with lots of audience participation. Bea Hazel, Bill Riggle, and Suzie Buckner were all part of the show and looked as though they had as much fun as Eric did. Suzie suprised Eric with her high energy level - he had a hard time keeping up with her! All of the comments I have received were very positive.

You don't want to miss our next exciting entertainment. We have Oktoberfest on Saturday 10/27 with German menu and music; Welcome Back is Saturday November 10th with Saucy BBQ Chicken and music from Beau Renfro. In December we have a special Christmas concert from the Tucson symphony's Symphonic Winds. This event is a dress up event!! New Year's Eve Dance music will be from Retro Swing.

I'm looking forward to see all of you soon!

Sarah & Hank Synder Update

Sarah and Hank are both in good health, but feeling the inevitable effects of aging.

Hank is confined to a wheelchair, and requires assistance with all daily activities. His muscle rigidity and aphasia continue to limit his ability to interact with others, but he's in good spriits and still finds ways to make his opinions known.

Sarah spends most of her time in a wheelchair, but can get around for short distances with a walker. She still enjoys being at the center of things and has become so well known for her addiction to mocha lites that the local store has started stocking extras.

For the past few years Hank and Sarah have enjoyed living at Canfield Place in Beaverton. Now, however, they're moving.

Because Hank requires more care than Canfield can provide, he has relocated to Beaverton Rehab & Speciality Care. The good news is that he will be able to receive physical therapy for his muscle rigidity, and skilled nursing care 24-7.

Sarah is remaining at Canfield for a few more weeks, and then will join Hank at Beaverton Rehab. They will have adjoining rooms overlooking a flower-filled courtyard. They will be together by their wedding anniversary.

Hank and Sarah will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this October. You can help make this a very special occasion.

Please send cards and notes for Hank and Sarah to Ann's address, which is listed below. It would be particularly nice if you would take the time to share any memories or stories about Hank and Sarah. Some time in October or November - they haven't set a date yet - they will be having a party for those of you who can make it to town. If you would like to attend, please send a note or e-mail to Ann with the weekends you are available.

Memorial Service for Michael Aronoff

Mike has lost his battle with brain cancer. He was surrounded by family when he died and Janee says he went peacefully.

The memorial service in Indiana will be held at:

Wegmiller Auditorium at the Bloomington Hospital at 1:00 p.m. on October 21st. Janee has asked that donations be made to the Bloomington Hospital Foundation in lieu of flowers.

Janee will be leaving Indiana after the memorial service and should be back in Tucson around November 1st. She is planning a memorial service for all of her and Mike's FHTV friends and family.

Trail Calling

Charlie and I just got home from cruise to Alaska. Awesome. He fell in June and managed to break top of femur and was immediately pinned and plated. Since then is struggling along with cane and sometimes with the Charlie Chaplin shuffle. He has golfed his age on one of the two times out and hopes to go hunting (ahem)!

Things are getting fall-like here and have to close up the camp at Kootenay Lake and try to put all the groceries etc. out there into cupboards here that are already full.

Love hearing from folks at Far Horizons and we will be there in Jan.

Sunday Social September 30th

Sponsors: Phyllis & Dale Randall
Attendance: 24

News of the Week and Comments!

It has been a great summer and many, many thanks and plaudits to all of the sponsors who made it possible to not have to pay for coffee and a doughnut, fritter, slim jim. etc. Jeff, Chuck, and Roger were always there to make sure we had a fresh pot of coffee, or two, and open up the Fiesta Room and kitchen so that we could be set up by 7:30 a.m.

Our news notes were always sent to BJ in California and she would enter it on the FHTV Summer "Blog" so that those with computers, (she also printed copies each month to mail to those without computers) so that they could find out a little of how we were faring here in paradise!

The Van Arsdale's are here. They had a good visit with the Rodger's in New York. Pat and Jim Fuller will be here the first week of November.

A reminder to folks who walk around the park at night. "CARRY A FLASHLIGHT!!!" The snakes are warming themselves on the blacktop streets.

Jeanne Bishop STILL doesn't have her new bluetooth hearing aids. They make everyone sound like they're talking with helium. Maybe Phonak will get the bugs out eventually. Thank goodness these "old" ones still work.

We had approximately 450 attendees and 28 sponsors for the summer Sunday Socials. Here's hoping we will have another great summer season next year!.

Thanks again and God bless.
